This calculator provides the ambroxol dose for treating respiratory conditions as a mucolytic, using a concentration of 30 mg / 5 mL (6 mg/mL), based on age groups:

Children under 1.25 years: 1.25 mL (7.5 mg) PO BID on medical advice only
Children 2–5 years: 1.25 mL (7.5 mg) PO TID
Children 6–12 years: 2.5 mL (15 mg) PO BID to TID
Children over 12 years & Adults: 5 mL (30 mg) PO TID for the first 2–3 days then BID thereafter
