This calculator determines the dose for treating bacterial infections using a concentration of 200 mg Amoxicillin and 28.5 mg Clavulanate per 5 mL (40 mg/mL Amoxicillin, 5.7 mg/mL Clavulanate), based on the patient’s weight and selected dose (25 or 45 mg/kg/day, BID):
Dose in mg and Volume in mL:
Daily Dose (mg) = Weight (kg) × Dose (mg/kg/day)
Per Dose (mg) = Daily Dose ÷ 2 (BID)
Volume (mL) = Per Dose (mg) ÷ 40 mg/mL (Amoxicillin component)
Where:
For adults (weight ≥ 40 kg), use 1 tablet (Amoxicillin/Clavulanate 875mg/125mg) every 12 hours. Administer for 7–10 days, or as directed. ⚠️ Always consult a healthcare provider.
Enter the patient’s weight, select the dose (25 or 45 mg/kg/day, BID). The calculator provides the dose range in mL and mg per dose for pediatric patients (> 3 months) or adults.
Example: Weight 10 kg, 45 mg/kg/day BID:
Pediatric ≥ 3 months: 5.6 mL (225 mg Amoxicillin / 32.1 mg Clavulanate) po every 12 hours Adult Dose: 1 tablet (Amoxicillin/Clavulanate 875mg/125mg) every 12 hours ⚠️ This tool is for information purposes only...
Consult a healthcare provider before administering.
It treats bacterial infections such as sinusitis, pneumonia, and skin infections, often when resistance to Amoxicillin alone is suspected.
Dosing is BID (twice daily) for 7–10 days or as prescribed.
Consult a doctor, as dosing for infants under 3 months may differ (e.g., caution or lower doses).
Select 'lb,' and the calculator converts to kg automatically.
Typically 1,750 mg Amoxicillin / 250 mg Clavulanate per day (2 tablets of 875mg/125mg), but follow a healthcare provider’s guidance.
